Dr. David Costa, Dean and Collegiate Professor

David Costa is Dean of Faculty and one of the founders of Robert Kennedy College. In his capacity as Dean, Dr. Costa oversees the faculty review process and several of the academic programmes of the college.

He read law at the School of Law of the University of Northumbria, Newcastle, and graduated with an LL.M degree. He complemented his legal studies with the Advanced Project Management Program, Stanford University, from which he graduated with the widely respected title of Stanford Certified Project Manager. He then expanded his knowledge of business through the Entrepreneurship Development Programme of the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dean Costa also holds a BA in Business Studies from the University of Derby, an MBA in eCommerce from the Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland and a Ph.D. in Strategy, Programme and Project Management from the Skema Business School (ESC Lille) with a thesis that dealt with index-based commodity investments. Prof. Costa lectures in the area of Investment and Money Management and is a frequent guest on several business televisions channels CNBC Europe and Bloomberg Television. His recent research on risk adjusted portfolios with both stocks and commodities has been used for the creation of a swiss publicly traded investment certificate issued by the second largest German Bank, Commerzbank AG. He is the author of "The Art of Banking: Dominate the Banking Landscape and Win the War without Fighting a Battle" and "The Portable Private Banker" a new textbook used for the MBA module Money Management.

Prof. David Duffill, Deputy Dean

David Duffill has an MA in Engineering Science from Oxford University and MBA from Harvard Business School.

He had been a professional consultant for almost 20 years, when in 1997 the company in which he was a partner was sold to Renaissance Solutions of the USA. Two years later, he and three colleagues left Renaissance to start TCI Consulting, a '"virtual" consultancy specialising in helping clients by providing strategy inputs and business intelligence for their strategic planning process.

While Prof. Duffill's main industrial recent focus has been in the healthcare, automotive and construction materials markets, his experience covers a broad range of industrial and service organisations. A substantial part of his current consulting activity is in competitive intelligence, including helping clients to benchmark their cost position against key competitors.

Dr. Roy Damary, Head of Business Studies

Dr. Damary holds M.A. in Engineering Science with First Class Honours from Oxford University and MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School. While pursuing his full-time career as a business consultant (Technomic Consultants SA, Geneva), he achieved his own Ph.D. from Lausanne University in 2000 (his thesis dealt with the reforms in Russia and the emergence of modern business practice there).

Roy Damary combines a long experience in practical consultancy and running his own business with academic management and teaching experience in marketing, accounting and finance, and entrepreneurship. This dual nature of his professional experience and his pluri-disciplinary academic background, combined with his personal experience of preparing a doctorate while working full time allows him to marry the academic and pragmatic aspects of business and research as they apply to doctoral studies.

Over the period 1986 to 1994, Dr. Damary was engaged in university teaching and programme management at Webster University, Geneva. He ran the MBA and other business programmes, and taught business, marketing, accounting and finance courses.

His business consultancy has been built around industrial marketing consultancy, with more recent responsibilities in financial market analysis and the creation of business enterprises. He is Economic Adviser to Bridport Investor Services, a Geneva-based, fixed-income broker and consultancy.

Guy Spier, Lecturer in Investment Management

Guy Spier is a lecturer at Robert Kennedy College.
He is 44 years old and for the last 13 years has been the manager of Aquamarine Fund, an investment partnership inspired by the original 1950's Buffett partnerships with market beating returns.
He did his MBA at the Harvard Business School (class of 1993) and has a First Class degree in PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) from Oxford University, where he was a contemporary of David Cameron at Brasenose College and was attended economics tutorials with him. Upon graduating, Spier was co-awarded the George Webb Medley prize for the best performance in that year in Economics.
He spent two years working at Braxton Associates (now part of Deloitte Consulting), and 6 months as a stagaire at the Forward Studies Unit of the European Commission in Brussels.
He has appeared in various articles and magazines - with commentary on various issues, and also in connection with his charity lunch with Warren Buffett and Mohnish Pabrai.
In New York, Guy served for 4 years as the President of the Oxford Alumni Association, and was a speaker at Ted University in India.

Dr. John Azzi, Emeritus Professor of Tax Law

Dr. Azzi, a member of the New South Wales Bar, earned his Doctorate of Juridical Studies from the University of Sydney, Australia. He was formerly a Lecturer in Law at the University of New South Wales. He is a Barrister, a fellow of the International Institute of Public Finance, and is a former Senior Researcher with the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, Amsterdam. He has extensive practical and teaching experience in the fields of Commercial Law and International Taxation Law, and has published widely in leading Australian and international law journals.

Benedicta Lusk, Lecturer in Management

Benedicta Lusk, founding member of Lusk, Paul & Associates, L.L.C., is an entrepreneur, strategist and executive coach. She is recognized for her exceptional facilitation and relationship building skills at all levels of organizations, especially the executive branch. She brings over fifteen years of executive experience championing real lasting business improvement by changing how people view and run their business. Her experience, international and national, spans the defence, industrial and commercial business sectors with significant accomplishments in organizational behaviour, programme management, strategic planning, business and marketing management, executive coaching, and profitability turnaround. She also has significant expertise in information technology both from a strategic as well as an operational standpoint.

Ms. Lusk's strategic partners include economic development agencies, elected officials, chambers of commerce and federal departments and agencies. She has received numerous awards for her contribution to the success of economic development agencies in creating and retaining business in the Southern California region. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Inland Valley Economic Development Agency.

Her executive MBA is from the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School at Claremont Graduate University. She holds a BSc in Management and Organizational Behaviour from the University of La Verne, California, and a teaching credential from the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

Prof. Diana Derval, Professor of Marketing

Diana Derval, inventor and guru of Wait Marketing, has gained a 360° advertising expertise from 15 years working with advertisers (TomTom, Société Générale, ALD Automotive, Magasins U, ViaMichelin), marketing agencies (Manalee, Purple Guru) and media (TF1 Publicité).

Author of the book “Wait Marketing”, Prof. Derval has a Masters Degree in Marketing & Communications and holds an Executive MBA from ESSEC-Mannheim Business School.

Founder of DervalResearch, she helps companies define and implement winning communications strategies. She initiated the Wait Marketing Research Centre – a must-have tool in order to communicate at the right moment at the right place – which offers exclusive data on customers’ waiting behaviour gathered in Europe, Africa, Asia and Northern America.

As well as holding her post as Professor of Marketing at Robert Kennedy College, she gives lectures and workshops on wait marketing and contextual advertising at other prestigious business schools and leading professional associations.


Prof. Freddy J. Nager, Professor of Marketing

Prof. Nager has two decades of experience in advertising, entertainment and interactive media. A graduate of Harvard University, he also holds an MBA in Marketing & Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California, where he taught undergraduate marketing labs. He is currently the Founder and Fusion Director of the creative strategy agency Atomic Tango (, and the author of the marketing blog Cool Rules Pronto (

He began his career at major music label MCA Records, and launched their first website in 1995 to critical acclaim. He then joined advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi L.A. as Sr. Copywriter on all Toyota interactive marketing, including their award-winning website. Over the ensuing years, he has created marketing campaigns and projects for such clients as Nissan & Infiniti, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Nestlé, the Grammy Brand, National Lampoon, and numerous new media ventures, including Web 2.0 start-up Metacafe. His work has been recognized by, among others, Communication Arts, Adweek, Step Inside Design and the One Show. He currently lives in Los Angeles.

Prof. François Thérin, Professor of Entrepreneurship

Prof. Therin is currently an Associate Professor at Euromed Marseille Ecole de Management in France. Prior to that, he was an Associate Professor at Grenoble Ecole de Management for 12 years. He holds a Masters degree in Management from Toulouse Business School and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He was also the founder and manager of a computer wholesaling company. His research focuses on innovation in high-tech small firms and start-ups and he is the founder and Editor of the International Journal of Technoentrepreneurship. He has genuine international experience as he was a research assistant in Canada for two years, and visiting professor for one year in Australia, and has also taught in Poland, Russia and Singapore.

Rolf Wüthrich, Faculty of Law, Tax Programme

Rolf Wüthrich is partner of the law firm burckhardt AG in Basel Switzerland. His areas of expertise are national and international tax planning, corporate restructuring and acquisition. From 2001 to 2010 he practised with an international law firm where he advised small and medium enterprises, groups of companies and private clients on national and international tax planning and implemented restructurings and transactions. An active member of international professional bodies, Rolf has a strong global network of personal contacts (including both lawyers and tax experts) with whom he works closely to provide accurate and accessible multi-jurisdictional advice. Rolf studied law at the University of Bern (admission to the bar in 1998). From 1999 to 2001 he worked with the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation IBFD in Amsterdam. He also obtained a degree from the University of Leiden (LL.M. 2001, International Tax Centre), specialising in international tax law. In 2004 he qualified as a Certified Tax Expert in Switzerland.

Andrew Wilson, Director of Legal Studies

Andrew Wilson is a US tax and legal consultant with Pirola Pennuto Zei & Associati in Milan, Italy. His areas of practice include cross-border transactions, particularly US in-bound and out-bound transactions, and Italian tax consulting. Before moving to Italy, he was an associate attorney with the Washington, D.C. office of King & Spalding. He is licensed to practise law in the State of New York and the District of Columbia. He has an L.LM. (in taxation) from New York University, and graduated summa cum laude from T.M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Dennis Crossen, Lecturer in Management

Dennis Crossen is responsible for strategic voice-centric conversions for the Global Sales & Services Group at Verizon Business. He is also the Director of Strategy for the Merton Management Group. He has successfully participated on teams for many corporate, governmental, and commercial customers during his 25 years in business. During this period, he has been an active strategist for several corporate mergers. In previous positions, he was responsible for vendor and customer relationships in engineering, strategy, marketing, legal, and product management divisions. He is also the former Program Manager at the NASA Kennedy Space Center (KICS contract) where he managed 47 employees of the Advanced Technology Group and the Administrative Telephony organization. His team was responsible for more than 17,000 customers.

Since 1981, Dennis Crossen has taught and lectured at numerous international academic institutions. In 2006, he was an Alumni Guest at Drexel University’s International MBA residency in Budapest, Hungary. He has also taught many online classes including the Mergers & Acquisitions and Applied Leadership classes at Robert Kennedy College . Dennis has been a Guest on Comcast’s’ CN8 “Money Matters Today” and “Newsmakers” US television programmes speaking on technology marketing and on a marketing programme for Oxford University.

In 2005, he was the guest speaker for the Instituto de Liderazgo in Moscow; speaking to Russia’s 2nd largest cellular provider (Megafon). He has also been a regular guest speaker at Drexel University’s Industry Perspectives BUSN701 course. He has participated at the Drexel University LeBow College of Business Capstone MBA review board, as well as DeVry University’s Master’s in Project Management grading panel. Dennis was also appointed an MBA Cohort Leader for Drexel University. He has taught courses in M&A, Strategic Technologies, Network Management, WAN technologies, Communication Systems, Numbering Systems, Project Management, Probability & Statistics, and Digital Communications. He has also been involved in research activities and patent research for the “Biomedical Telemetry System”. He also worked in the ‘skunk works’ at Bell Labs where his immediate Manager and co-worker received 2 Patents (Patent # 4,695,926 – Patent # 4,858,075). He has extensive copyright publications in academic areas such as Global Strategic Management, Business Processes, ERP, Organization Analysis, Professional Development, Statistical Applications, Optical Transport, Wireless, and Electronics.

Dennis is a graduate of Drexel University (Electrical Engineering & MBA), Oxford University (Computing), and Georgetown University (International Business). He has also completed Masters Programs in Project Management at George Washington University. He is currently active in postgraduate research at Harvard University (Computational Mathematics), Drexel University (Information Systems) and Oxford University (Object Oriented Computation) developing a research report in Bioinformatics (Autism/PDD Neuroscience). In 2005, he completed a residency at the Helsinki School of Economics and attended a private lunch engagement with US Ambassador Earle Mack in Helsinki, Finland. He holds several professional certifications including a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Villanova University and Network (CCNA) and Design (CCDA) certifications from Cisco Systems. He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Anthony J. Drexel Society, and the Oxford Alumni Association of New York.

Dr Francis Vorhies, Lecturer in Management

Dr Vorhies has more than 20 years of international experience as a sustainability economist. In Johannesburg, he was a senior lecturer in business economics at Wits University and founder of a consultancy on conservation and the private sector. In Nairobi, he was employed by the African Wildlife Foundation to work on sustainability in the forestry sector.

In Geneva, he established new global programmes on economics and business for IUCN-The World Conservation Union. This work included joint feasibility studies with the International Finance Corporation on setting up biodiversity business initiatives in African and Central Europe. In Oxford, he was Chief Executive of the Earthwatch Institute (Europe) responsible for managing a unique partnership programme with a group of 40 large multinational corporations.

Most recently Dr Vorhies has followed his wife’s career back to Geneva and set up Earthmind, a not-for-profit sustainability group. He has undertaken an array of sustainability assignments for clients such as Credit Suisse, the Global Mechanism, the Government of Kuwait, the International Labour Office, the International Trade Centre, IUCN, the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the UN Environment Programme, and the World Bank.

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Dr. Maria Lugo-Baltazar, Lecturer in Management

Dr Lugo- Baltazar received her Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, major in Leadership and Organizational Change from Walden University in 2007. Her doctoral dissertation research title was “An Examination of Cultural and Emotional Intelligences in the Development of Global Transformational Leadership”. Her research interests include transformational leadership, emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence, and cross-cultural leadership.

Her experience in academia includes being lecturer in organizational behaviour and human resource management at Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and adjunct lecturer at The University Center Cesar Ritz in Brig, both in Switzerland. In addition to teaching at Robert Kennedy College, she teaches online Walden University, and the University of Phoenix.

Prior to entering academia, she was listed in the United Who’s Who for Executives and Professionals for her seven years of management work at the Ana G. Mendez University System in Puerto Rico. During this time, she achieved organisational recognition by developing the Alumni Affairs Offices for their three universities. As Assistant Vice President for Alumni Affairs, she established a new vice-presidency, managed the operation of three alumni associations, three alumni affairs offices, and an alumni body of 50,000.

Dr. Rhys Rowland-Jones, Visiting Professor

Dr. Rowland-Jones has earned his M.Sc. from the University of Glamorgan and his Ph.D. from the University of Wales. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Operations and Information Management, University of the West of England, Bristol.

Edwin Christopher Rodin-Brown, Lecturer in Management

Edwin Brown is a Chartered Accountant Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (Equivalent to North American Certified Public Accountant). He is also a Member of Chartered Accountants Auditing, Management, Taxation and Technology Institutes.

Dr Guy Langvardt, Lecturer in eBusiness

A scholar practitioner, Dr Langvardt is a sales executive for IBM Corporation. He has over 25 years of sales, marketing and management experience in the technology sector with such companies as Compaq, NCR Corporation and Sun Microsystems. Having earned over 50 national and international awards for excellence, he has a track record of consistent success throughout his career. He works with clients in the aerospace, Asian motors, financial services, and media/entertainment industries.

He is also Principal and Founder of the firm We Progress Through Change which specializes in leadership coaching, organizational change, strategic market development, and sales training. He has over 20 years of experience helping people meet their personal and professional goals.

He earned his MBA specializing in international business from Thunderbird, School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona. During his studies, he developed a strategic marketing plan for a major financial institution and learned to speak Chinese-Mandarin. He achieved his Ph.D. specializing in e-business at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His dissertation focused on the effects of individual resilience and commitment to change during organizational transformation.

He has lived and worked throughout the world. Having spent his formative years in Australia, England and the Philippines, he has a strong appreciation of cross-cultural issues. Active in his community, he now resides in Southern California.

Vasileios Paliktzoglou, Lecturer in Management

Vasileios Paliktzoglou has several years of experience in universities such as the University of Pisa, the Aegean University, Robert Gordon University and the University of Cranfield.

His working know-how varies in the fields of research, industry and the military. He has also been involved as IT Teaching Consultant in some of the leading corporate educational Institutions in Greece, in the Hellenic Army as IT Specialist, and keeping the balance between academia and industry he has worked as Project Manager and IT Consultant in UK, Italy and Greece. He holds an MSc in Electronic Information Management from the Robert Gordon University and BSc in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield.

His research interests are in the fields of Project Management, communities of practices, Knowledge Management, e-learning, social networking, health informatics and telemedicine in which he is actively involved in several EU research projects. He has a special interest and involvement in the evolution of the Open Source community phenomenon as an active member. He is also an author and co-author of several articles and books.

He is currently a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Joensuu and an Adjunct Professor at the Mediterranean University College.

Steve Page, Lecturer in Management

Steve Page’s specialisms are in the areas of Information an Knowledge Management and Qualitative Research Methods which he teaches at the University of Chester. He also teaches Operations Management and E-Business at the University of Bradford where he is an Associate Lecturer. He has previously taught Strategic Management at Manchester Metropolitan University. His international teaching experience has taken him to Europe, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.

His current research interest is in the area of aligning information strategy with business strategy. He has presented his work in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA, and has also written a number of book chapters. He chaired a conference on Ethics, ICT and Social Exclusion, and has been on the Organising Committee for a number of International Conferences. He is an External Examiner at several UK Universities, and is a Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy.

Elias Hadjielias, Adjunct Professor

Elias Hadjielias has a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from Kingston University, UK and an MSc in International Business and Management from the University of Manchester, UK. He is currently a PhD candidate in Management at Lancaster University, UK, researching and teaching in the field of family business studies.

He has substantial work experience as a Management Consultant and Trainer, with specialisation in the areas of strategic planning, market research, and financial analysis.

The late Prof. Gerson Rosa, Former Director of the MBA Programme

Professor Gerson Rosa, whose name appeared on this list for a number of years, died quite suddenly in March 2009. He is surely missed by his students and colleagues alike.
